Modern Art and the 4 Gospels in NYC (HT:JT)

This is exciting.

One comment: may the church get off its high horse and learn to love and appreciate aesthetics. What are we so afraid of? Whatever it may be, the fear persists to our impoverishment.

Like minded resources from a philosophical-theological perspective might include:

Schmemann "For The Life of the World."
Wolterstorff "Art in Action."
Seerveld "Rainbows for the Fallen World."

Fujimura - 4 Holy Gospels from Crossway on Vimeo.

Update: To my reforming friends, this is a slice what dominion means. Here we have a humble example of contextualization at its best; authentic, risky, involving the full expression of personhood.

  1. Very cool. We do need more freedom for the arts in the church!
