    Maybe I'm extra slow... I don't get it. Yes, there was a gorilla, yes, they passed the ball 15 times...

    "IT" = most people don't see the gorilla on the first watch. That is, most are so consumed with ball counting, that they are oblivious to a man in a gorilla costume walking right through their line of sight.
